Electric and petrol versions of the Renault Kangoo van range have been given a safety boost and other updates – including the new corporate Renault logo – for 2025.
The first example of the MY25 Renault Kangoo E-Tech to arrive locally will be on display at this weekend’s ‘Everything Electric’ event at Sydney Showground in Sydney Olympic Park, which opens today.
The E-Tech variant features a 90kW/245Nm electric driveline, with a 45kWh lithium-ion battery good for a WLTP driving range of 286km. It is also now capable of 80kW DC fast charging.
Alongside the electric model, petrol models have also been updated with improved safety and technology. This includes the addition of a digital rear-view mirror, driver attention monitoring and drowsiness alert, larger 7.0-inch digital dash and tyre pressure monitoring.
The petrol models utilise a 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine producing 96kW/240Nm – almost identical to the electric model – with claimed combined cycle consumption of 6.2l/100km.
Pricing is up, though, largely due to the brand’s decision to scrap manual models from the lineup – meaning only the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic is available from here on in.
“Small vans remain an important part of the Australian new-car market,” said Glen Sealey, the General Manager of Renault Australia.
“A lot of small businesses rely on these vehicles to get the job done, as parking spaces become increasingly hard to find in cities and suburbs across Australia, and delivery services are booming as more people shop online.
“After a brief hiatus in preparation for this updated model, the Renault Kangoo is back in business.”
The MY25 Renault Kangoo range – due in local showrooms from this month – is as follows.
