Kia has pulled the covers off the second-generation Kia Seltos, confirming the all-new model will arrive in Australia in Q4 2026.
The next-gen Seltos made its global debut overnight via an online world premiere, with Kia positioning the SUV as a major step forward in design, technology and everyday usability. For Australian buyers, local suspension tuning will begin in early 2026, with powertrains, grades, features and pricing to be announced closer to launch.
Bigger presence, sharper SUV styling
The all-new Seltos has been reworked to look and feel more like a proper SUV. It sits on Kia’s latest K3 platform and grows to 4,430 mm long with a 2,690 mm wheelbase, helping deliver more cabin space without losing its city-friendly footprint.
Design follows Kia’s ‘Opposites United’ philosophy, blending a wider stance, structured surfaces and bolder lighting signatures with cleaner, more aerodynamic detailing such as flush door handles. X-Line and GT-Line variants will again headline the range, leaning into either rugged or sporty styling themes depending on buyer preference.
Interior designed for real-world use
Inside, the Seltos has been redesigned around space, simplicity and connectivity. A low, horizontal dashboard improves forward visibility, while a column-mounted shift-by-wire system opens up the centre console for better storage and usability.
Tech takes a big step forward with a panoramic display made up of dual 12.3-inch screens, a dedicated climate control panel, head-up display and over-the-air software updates. Kia is also introducing a generative AI-powered voice assistant, alongside Digital Key 2 smartphone access and a connected Kia Connect Store for feature personalisation.
Practicality remains a strong suit, with a class-leading 536-litre boot and flexible storage options aimed squarely at families, novated lease drivers and fleet users who need one vehicle to cover a lot of bases.
Powertrains to suit a wide mix of buyers
Globally, the new Seltos will offer a range of petrol engines, including 1.6-litre turbo options delivering up to 193 PS, alongside a 2.0-litre petrol engine focused on smooth everyday driving. Both two-wheel drive and all-wheel drive configurations will be available in some markets, with selectable drive and terrain modes.
A hybrid variant is confirmed for 2026 globally, adding improved efficiency, Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) capability and Kia’s latest Smart Regenerative Braking system. While Australian hybrid timing hasn’t been locked in yet, it’s clearly on the roadmap.
Safety and tech front and centre
Kia has doubled down on safety, with extensive use of high-strength steel and a full suite of advanced driver assistance systems. Features such as Highway Driving Assist 2, Lane Following Assist 2, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist and surround-view monitoring are all part of the package in global markets.
For fleet buyers, it’s a clear signal that the next Seltos is being engineered to meet increasingly strict safety, compliance and driver-expectation standards without drifting into premium-price territory.
What it means for Australian fleet and novated buyers
With its blend of size, technology and efficiency, the all-new Seltos is shaping up as a key option for organisations running compact SUV fleets, as well as novated lease customers wanting something practical without stepping up into a larger, more expensive vehicle class.
More local details will land over the next 12 months, but the message is clear: Kia is treating Seltos as a core global model — and Australia is very much part of the plan.
