Chery Group has hit a new global milestone, selling more than two million vehicles in the first nine months of 2025 — a 14.5% year-on-year increase that highlights its rapid growth and expanding international footprint.
The company sold 2,007,768 vehicles between January and September, including 587,545 new energy vehicles (NEVs)— up 77.1% year-on-year. In September alone, Chery sold 280,469 vehicles, with NEVs accounting for 91,590 units, up 55.4% from a year earlier.
Exports continued to strengthen, with 137,624 vehicles shipped overseas in September. That marks the fifth consecutive month of more than 100,000 export sales, underscoring Chery’s position as China’s top passenger vehicle exporter. Total overseas sales reached 936,428 units for the year to date — equivalent to one Chery being shipped every 25 seconds.
In Europe, demand more than doubled, particularly in Poland, Greece, and Romania. Chery’s latest hybrid models — including the TIGGO 7, 8, and 9 Super Hybrids (CSH) — are now entering key global markets, with more than 75% of this year’s launches being electrified.
“Chery’s global sales performance this year reflects how well we are connecting with today’s drivers,” said Lucas Harris, COO of Chery Australia. “Specifically, our success reaffirms that the vehicles we’re delivering – smart, sustainable and competitively priced – are resonating deeply with customers.”
He added that Chery’s progress in 2025 “isn’t just about numbers – it’s about the ability to meet evolving needs and aspirations of motorists who expect more innovation, value, and environmental consciousness from their vehicles.”
That success is also being felt locally. Harris noted the Tiggo 4 was the sixth highest-selling vehicle in Australia last month, a clear sign of the brand’s growing relevance in local showrooms and among fleet buyers considering electrified options.
Beyond sales, Chery achieved several major milestones in September:
- The company listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange (HKEX) on 25 September, marking 2025’s largest automotive IPO.
- It ranked 233rd on the 2025 Fortune Global 500, the fastest-rising automaker on the list.
- The brand surpassed 17.7 million global users, including 5.4 million overseas.
Chery also continues to invest in safety and intelligent technology, with its vehicles earning 51 five-star safety ratings worldwide. Its robotics division recently achieved a world-first certification in the EU for “Mornine,” a humanoid robot meeting machinery, radio, and cybersecurity standards.
With record sales, a successful IPO, and expanding global reach, Chery is accelerating toward its vision of becoming a trusted global leader in intelligent and sustainable mobility — a trend fleet professionals will be watching closely as electrified options continue to dominate new model releases.
