Volkswagen Australia has revealed pricing and specifications for its updated Caddy and Crafter models, as well as announcing an all-new Transport arriving later this year.
Starting with Volkswagen’s popular small van, the Caddy Cargo, key highlights now include Digital Cockpit Pro and 10-inch Infotainment Screen providing a more technology-rich driving experience.
New standard fare includes front and rear parking sensors, power-folding adjustable and heated door mirrors, tyre pressure monitoring, central locking with keyless go and usb-c ports with faster charging performance.
In addition to these inclusions, the Maxi and California variants further pick up park assist with park distance control, adaptive cruise control, lane change system, side assist including blind sport monitoring and rear traffic alert, while the across-the-range standard autonomous emergency braking (AEB) adds pedestrian and cyclist monitoring.
The Caddy Cargo is available in three powertrain configurations, two diesel and one petrol, to suit a range of applications: the 75kW TDI280 diesel, 90kW TDI320 diesel and 85kW TSI220 petrol.
A range of body-styles are offered, from Cargo Short Wheelbase to the longer wheelbase Cargo Maxi, Crewvan, Maxi and Maxi Life people movers and the California lifestyle vehicle.
The updated Cargo range now kicks off at $41,225 for the Caddy Cargo TSI220 85kW 6-speed manual, a $235 increase over the outgoing model.
Like the Caddy, the Crafter range has also received an update, which includes new technology, safety features and driver assistance systems.
Now included is forward collision warning, now with AEB cyclist and pedestrian detection, lane assist, travel assist, blind sport monitoring, adaptive cruise control and a moving-off information system.
Visually, the Crafter picks up a refreshed front bumper and badging, to align with the rest of the Volkswagen family.
The Crafter, equipped with the TDI410 2.0L twin-turbo diesel powertrain, is available in Medium Wheelbase, Long Wheelbase, Single cab Chassis, Double Cab Chassis and Kampervan variants, with prices starting at $69,100 for the Crafter Single Cab Chassis.
The all-new Transporter Van will also arrive in Q3 this year, based on the Ford Transit platform and available in short and long wheelbase configurations.
Incoming Transporter models will be powered by a mix of diesel and battery electric vehicle powertrains, with a plug-in hybrid following in Q2, 2026.
