Salary snapshot (typical ranges)
Ranges below come from current SEEK salary insights and live ads in October 2025, plus other benchmark sources. Figures are base salary and exclude cars/bonuses unless stated (AU figures in AUD; NZ in NZD).
- Fleet Administrator / Fleet Administration Officer: AU $70k–$85k; examples of full-time fleet admin roles commonly list around $75–80k in Australia.
- Fleet Coordinator / Controller: AU $75k–$105k; NZ $70k–$85k. (SEEK role pages for Transport/Fleet Coordinator show AU $75–90k and NZ $70–80k averages; live AU ads often extend to ~$100k+ for Controllers.)
- Workshop Manager (light/heavy vehicles): AU $105k–$125k typical; NZ $95k–$100k (with regional NZ examples up to $105k–$125k). Live heavy-vehicle ads in Australia frequently exceed $125k depending on site/allowances.
- Fleet Manager (organisation-side): AU $80k–$100k average (metro roles often six-figure with car/bonus); NZ $95k–$115k average.
- Account Manager (supplier/telematics/leasing/OEM B2B): AU $85k–$105k base (OTE higher with commissions).
- Fleet / OEM Fleet Sales Manager (supplier-side): Wide range; many AU ads list six-figure packages, often including a vehicle. Example: Sydney National Sales Manager $140–$170k + super + bonus + vehicle.
- Leasing & Novated (Consultant/Exec): AU leasing consultant averages $65k–$75k base; novated consultant roles are plentiful and typically add commissions/bonuses.
Note: Job volumes are strong—SEEK currently shows thousands of fleet-related manager/coordinator openings in AU and hundreds in NZ, indicating ongoing demand.

1) Administration & coordination (entry to mid)
- Typical titles: Fleet Administrator, Fleet Administration Officer, Fleet Coordinator, Fleet Controller.
- What you do: Maintain vehicle records, bookings, infringements, rego/insurance renewals, vendor invoices, driver queries and pool-vehicle scheduling. Controllers add daily dispatch and utilisation balancing.
- Who’s hiring: Councils, universities, state agencies, contractors, logistics firms, mining services and large corporates (plus dealership groups with fleet teams).
- Pathways: Step up to Fleet Analyst, Fleet Buyer or Fleet Manager.
2) Procurement & contracts
- Typical titles: Fleet Procurement Officer, Fleet Category Specialist, Contract Manager (Fleet), Remarketing Officer.
- What you do: Write RFQs/RFTs, negotiate OEM/lessor pricing, set service level agreements, manage disposal channels and refresh cycles.
- Who’s hiring: Government and large enterprise fleets; leasing companies; OEM captive and dealer groups.
3) Workshops, maintenance & asset operations
- Typical titles: Workshop Manager, Service Manager (Fleet/Truck), Maintenance Planner, Fleet Technician (Senior).
- What you do: Lead technicians, assure roadworthiness and compliance, plan PM schedules, manage warranty/campaigns, and control parts and downtime. Heavy-vehicle sites attract premiums for remote, night or mine work.

4) Data, telematics & compliance
