Gumtree Group has partnered with Carinspect to take the risk out of buying used vehicles, by offering pre-purchase inspections undertaken by qualified mechanics.
The partnership, which will initially roll out in WA before expanding to NSW and VIC across the next three months, will allow Gumtree customers to verify the condition of a vehicle before buying.
Co-founder of Carinspect and automotive expert Zasch Weiler says the partnership couldn’t have come at a better time for the used-car industry.
“We’ve had consistent growth in our customer base since Carinspect’s inception, and this new partnership has opened the door to even more opportunities to help second-hand car buyers know whether they’re buying a peach or a lemon,” Mr Weiler said.
“We draw on our extensive knowledge of car makes and models to help buyers look out for common issues or faults in that specific vehicle type, providing a holistic perspective to help with their decision.
“With the used car market riddled in poorly maintained vehicles, it is more important than ever that second-hand car buyers enlist the expertise of a qualified mechanic who knows cars inside and out, and that is what we’re here for.”
After completing inspections for more than 10,000 used car buyers, using a network of vetted and qualified mechanics, Carinspect is committed to helping Gumtree customers make more informed buying decisions.
Gumtree Group Managing Director Tommy Logtenberg says Gumtree sees between 20,000 to 25,000 new private car listings each month.
“Adding Carinspect to our private sellers’ used car listings will offer buyers the ability to purchase with even more confidence,” Mr Logtenberg said.
“Used-car buyers looking at vehicles on the Gumtree marketplace will be able to access the benefits of Carinspect’s industry-leading technology.
“They can book their vehicle pre-purchase inspection quickly and easily and have the car’s inspection report sent to their inbox instantly after the inspection has been completed.”
Gumtree users will be able to access Carinspect for used car pre-purchase inspections from 19 June.
