More than 450 representatives from across the Australian trucking industry will gather in the Hunter Valley next week for TruckShowX 2026, a landmark conference focused on reducing fuel use, improving productivity, and cutting emissions across heavy transport.
Held from 18-19 May at Rydges Resort Hunter Valley, TruckShowX 2026 will bring together transport operators, suppliers, technology providers, policy leaders and industry stakeholders at a time when rising diesel prices and global fuel uncertainty are sharpening the focus on efficiency, energy security and alternative powertrains.
The event will feature more than 50 speakers sharing first-hand experience with low- and zero-emissions vehicles, charging and refuelling infrastructure, operational change, and the practical steps required to reduce carbon fuel use.
Operators on the program include Toll Group, Team Global Express, Centurion Transport, Divall’s Earthmoving and Bulk Haulage, Multiquip, Russell Transport, Wettenhalls, FBT Transwest, Frasers Livestock, New Energy Transport and many more.
Right content, right time
TruckShowX 2026 is a spin-off from the Brisbane Truck Show and follows the inaugural TruckShowX event held in 2024, which focused strongly on decarbonisation and the zero-emissions ecosystem.
For 2026, those themes remain central, but the program has expanded to reflect the issues now dominating boardroom and depot-level conversations across the transport sector: productivity, efficiency, fuel savings, safety, technology and resilience.
Heavy Vehicle Industry Australia (HVIA) CEO Todd Hacking said record ticket sales reflected the urgency operators are feeling as fuel costs and global uncertainty place new pressure on transport businesses.
“When we first started planning for TruckShowX 2026 six months ago, we certainty didn’t anticipate a global liquid fuel crisis in 2026. I don’t think anyone did. But here we are,” Hacking said.
“Efficiency, fuel savings, battery electric, hydrogen, alternative fuels and energy security have become more important than ever before.
“TruckShowX 2026 will play a crucial role in enabling operators and other industry stakeholders to understand this new global landscape and learning from the market leaders about what it means for their business.”
Technology on show
Alongside the conference program, TruckShowX 2026 will feature more than 40 exhibitors showcasing the latest in trailer equipment, future energy, telematics, powertrain technology, vehicle charging, safety systems and other transport innovations.
A key feature of the event will be the opportunity for delegates to experience on-road test drives of the latest low- and zero-emissions vehicles available in Australia. For many operators, this will provide a rare chance to compare emerging technologies in a practical operating environment rather than only through presentations or product brochures.
Adam Ritzinger, HVIA’s Chief Technical Officer and TruckShowX Technical Program Director, said the level of interest in the event showed how quickly the industry conversation has shifted.
“The level of interest in TruckShowX makes this clear – it is the right event, with the right content, at the right time,” Ritzinger said.
“Never before has decarbonisation, productivity, efficiency, technology, and innovation been more important.”
