Volkswagen Group Australia (VGA) has brought together more than 100 fleet, government, and industry guests in Melbourne for its Fleet Day — a hands-on demonstration of the breadth of vehicles and innovation spanning its five brands: Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi, Škoda and CUPRA.
Over two days at Calder Park, attendees experienced more than 60 vehicles, ranging from hatches and sedans to SUVs, vans, people movers and a ute. Multiple driving sessions allowed guests to get behind the wheel and directly compare models across internal combustion, plug-in hybrid (PHEV), and battery electric (BEV) powertrains.
A showcase of range and capability
VGA Managing Director Karsten Seifert said Fleet Day highlighted the organisation’s strength as a multi-brand importer with solutions to suit every business.
“Across the Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles, Audi, Škoda and CUPRA brands, we are bringing fleet customers the latest innovations, the most flexible solutions, and great ownership for their business,” said Seifert.
“Fleet Day is designed to bring together our closest partners, introduce businesses to our offerings, and demonstrate the unrivalled range of models that we have on sale today in ICE, PHEV and BEV, from compact to full size, 2 seats to 7. VGA is a one-stop shop for mobility solutions. Our customers don’t need to go any further.”
The event also celebrated VGA’s collaboration with Australian partners such as Walkinshaw, which previewed the upcoming Amarok W ahead of its 2026 launch. Other display highlights included the Crafter Kampervan by Jayco, vans equipped with shelving systems, and Amarok conversions featuring suspension upgrades, frontal protection, and rear tray options.
Plug-in hybrid and electric future
Fleet customers were given an early look at VGA’s next wave of electrified models, with five PHEVs available for testing — including the first versions of the Škoda Kodiaq and Škoda Superb plug-ins due in 2026. The CUPRA Leon VZe Sportstourer was also on hand, showcasing the new Gen2 PHEV system with more than 100 kilometres of EV range on the WLTP cycle. Even the Volkswagen Touareg R, a high-performance PHEV suited to emergency services, made an appearance.
On the BEV front, VGA assembled one of the most extensive displays of any fleet event this year. The all-new Volkswagen Transporter made its first public appearance, joined by the ID. Buzz Cargo, ID. Buzz Pro and GTX, ID. 4 Pro and ID. 5 GTX. Audi presented its Q4 45 e-tron, Q6 e-tron quattro and S e-tron GT, while CUPRA and Škoda brought the Tavascan, Elroq Select and Enyaq SUV Sportline.
Bringing industry together
Fleet Day attendees included representatives from fleet management organisations such as SG Fleet, Smartgroup, Custom Fleet, FleetPartners, and Maxxia; corporate and government entities including ANZ, Scania, and Emergency Services; as well as rental and mobility companies like Hertz, Europcar, Sixt, and Carbar. Conversion and fit-out partners including Walkinshaw, Autosafe, and Pedders were also present, alongside key industry bodies AFMA and NALSPA.
For many, the appeal was the efficiency of experiencing the full scope of VGA’s portfolio in one location — comparing vehicles, technologies, and fit-for-purpose applications in real driving conditions.
Experience over explanation
By hosting the event at Calder Park, VGA reinforced the experiential focus of its fleet strategy. Beyond static displays, attendees could engage with technical experts and understand how the Group’s global innovations are being applied to meet Australian operational and sustainability needs.
From efficient turbocharged ICE engines to BEVs and long-range PHEVs, Fleet Day demonstrated the Volkswagen Group Australia difference — an unmatched combination of breadth, innovation, and practicality designed to support fleets as they navigate the next decade of mobility.
