Pedders Suspension & Brakes has released a range of GVM+ Upgrade Kits for the Kia Tasman, aimed at fleets, tradies and operators needing more payload from Kia’s new ute.
The kits increase the Tasman’s Gross Vehicle Mass beyond its standard factory rating, with 3490kg, 3500kg and 3800kg options available depending on the vehicle variant.
Pedders says the upgrades are Australian Government approved and ADR-compliant, allowing them to be legally used nationwide when fitted under the relevant pre- or post-registration approval process.
For fleet buyers, the additional GVM could provide more flexibility when fitting service bodies, tool storage, towing equipment, recovery gear or other accessories that reduce available payload.
Prices start from $3,566, excluding labour and compliance costs.
The GVM+ Upgrade Kits include heavy-duty front struts and coil springs, rear foam cell shock absorbers, upgraded rear leaf springs, associated hardware and the required compliance components.
Pedders says the parts are engineered as a complete package to help maintain vehicle geometry, ride quality, braking balance and stability when the ute is carrying heavier loads.
Pedders Chief Product Officer Rob Davis said the Tasman program was developed as a vehicle-specific solution rather than simply adding heavier-duty suspension components.
“It’s always an exciting challenge to develop new product solutions for a brand-new model, and the new Kia Tasman was no exception,” Davis said.
“As always, our approach when developing GVM upgrade kits is not just engineering a solution to deliver greater load-carrying capability, but designing a bespoke product solution for each vehicle that also offers enhanced ride and handling characteristics for customers that regularly tow or carry loads.”
The release adds another consideration for fleet managers assessing the Tasman for operational roles where standard payload limits may be restrictive.
