Mitsubishi has confirmed pricing for the new Triton Raider, with the locally enhanced flagship ute set to arrive in dealerships from June 2026 priced at $74,990 driveaway.
Based on the 26MY Triton GSR Dual Cab, the Raider has been developed with Australian engineering and manufacturing firm Premcar, with second-stage manufacturing completed in Epping, Victoria. Mitsubishi says the new model is designed to add more off-road capability, stronger visual presence and improved wheel control for Australian conditions.
The Triton Raider sits at the top of the Mitsubishi ute range and brings a package of suspension, wheel, tyre, styling and interior upgrades over the GSR.
Bruce Hampel, GM of Product Strategy at Mitsubishi Motors Australia Limited, said early reaction to the new model had been positive.
“Triton Raider is already breaking new ground for the Mitsubishi brand in Australia,” said Bruce Hampel, GM of Product Strategy at MMAL.
“Early feedback from our dealer network since unveiling has been resoundingly positive, with specific callouts for Raider’s improved wheel control, aggressive styling and off-road performance.”
Australian engineering focus
Premcar’s work on the Triton Raider is centred around an integrated suspension package tuned for local use. The program was led by Premcar Senior Engineering Partner Andrew Lynch, with the team developing unique front and rear suspension dampers to improve comfort and control.
The front damper uses an internal rebound spring to maximise suspension control, while the Raider also receives a front spring and jounce bumper package. Mitsubishi says the result is improved wheel control across a wide range of surfaces.
The Raider also gets Bridgestone AT002 all-terrain tyres matched to heavier-duty ROH Assault 18-inch alloy wheels, finished in Brushed Bronze with Raider-specific hub caps.
The suspension and wheel package delivers a 25mm increase in front ride height, made up of 10mm from the new front springs and 15mm from the upgraded wheel and tyre package. Rear ride height increases by 15mm from the wheel and tyre combination, while front and rear tracks are each increased by 20mm in total.
Mitsubishi has also retained the YAMAHA Performance Damper system introduced on the 26MY Triton GSR. The horizontally mounted damper connects to the chassis and is designed to improve noise, vibration and harshness performance.
More attitude outside, Raider touches inside
The Raider’s exterior changes are not subtle, which is probably the point. The Brushed Bronze wheel finish is matched with Sandstorm side decals, while Raider badging is applied to the rear tailgate.
Other additions include a Dark Warm Grey front garnish, upgraded side protection bars, sports bar with red inserts, red strengthened underbody protection with Raider lettering, and a chrome grille emblem contrasting against the black grille and under garnish.
Four launch colours will be available: White Diamond, Black Mica, Blade Silver and Graphite Grey.
Inside, the Raider carries over the key equipment from the top-spec Triton GSR. It adds black leather seats with orange stitching, Raider-branded front headrests and a Raider badge on the centre console.
What it means for fleet and novated buyers
At $74,990 driveaway, the Triton Raider is not chasing entry-level ute buyers. It is aimed at customers who want a factory-backed, locally engineered flagship with more off-road presence and capability than the standard GSR.
For novated lease buyers, the Raider brings the emotional appeal: tough stance, bronze wheels, all-terrain tyres and a high-spec interior. For fleet buyers, the more relevant questions will be around fit-for-purpose use, whole-of-life cost, service support, tyre replacement costs and whether the extra off-road capability is genuinely required for the job.
The appeal for organisations is that the upgrades are engineered through a formal second-stage manufacturing program rather than being added piecemeal after delivery. That may make the Raider easier to assess from a procurement, warranty and compliance perspective than a heavily modified ute built outside the manufacturer-supported ecosystem.
Warranty and aftersales
The Triton Raider is covered by Mitsubishi’s 10/10/10 Diamond Advantage program, which includes a 10-year/200,000km manufacturer’s warranty when scheduled servicing is completed within specified intervals at a Mitsubishi dealership. Otherwise, a five-year/100,000km warranty applies.
The program also includes 10-year capped price servicing and up to 10 years of roadside assistance, subject to eligibility conditions. Mitsubishi notes that some government, rental and national business customers are excluded from parts of the program.
