The Fleet Innovation Award celebrates both incremental improvements and bold new initiatives that deliver tangible results. Whether through the modification of current practices or the development of groundbreaking methods, the award encourages creativity at all levels.
Innovation examples include:
- Enhancing value through novel uses of technology.
- Developing user-centric policies or processes.
- Creating sustainable practices that benefit multiple stakeholders.
Spotlight on Past Success
The winner of the inaugural Fleet Innovation Award in 2024, Dubbo Regional Council, set the bar high with their innovative use of telematics. Their approach wasn’t about inventing new technology but rather utilising existing tools more effectively. The council demonstrated the importance of gaining executive buy-in, creating a robust business case, and implementing policies to maximise benefits.
Daniel Peterson, Manager Fleet and Depot Services at Dubbo Regional Council, emphasised, “Innovation is understanding the potential benefits and putting in place systems to capitalise on those benefits.”
