The countdown is officially on. Nissan has announced the global reveal of its next-generation Navara will take place on 19 November 2025, marking a major milestone in the ute’s near 40-year legacy in Australia and New Zealand.
To build anticipation, Nissan has released a short film celebrating the Navara’s evolution from its humble 1986 debut to the versatile work-and-play hero it is today. The video, part of Nissan’s Defy Ordinary campaign, takes viewers on a nostalgic ride through four decades of Australian life — from dawn starts on dusty job sites to boat ramps, family road trips, and everything in between.
“For nearly 40 years, Navara has been writing its story alongside Australia’s own evolution,” said Andrew Humberstone, Managing Director, Nissan Oceania. “Every generation has learned from the previous one, and every Australian customer has taught us something about what matters most in a ute.”
Since arriving in Australia in December 1986, more than 420,000 Navaras have been sold across the continent. Each generation has built on that foundation of durability and practicality — qualities that have made the Navara one of Australia’s most trusted nameplates among tradies, adventurers, and fleets alike.
Heritage Informing Innovation
While Nissan is keeping the finer details of the new Navara under wraps until the November reveal, the teaser campaign makes one thing clear: this model will respect its roots. The next-generation ute will incorporate design cues from its predecessors while packing in the advanced capability, connectivity, and safety technology today’s drivers expect.
According to Nissan, the new Navara’s development was heavily informed by feedback from hundreds of thousands of Australian and New Zealand customers who’ve put previous generations through their paces in some of the world’s harshest conditions. Those lessons — from payload balance to comfort and towing — have guided the engineering process for this latest model.
A New Chapter for a Proven Nameplate
The new Navara will officially launch in Australia and New Zealand in the first half of 2026, ushering in the next chapter for a nameplate that’s become synonymous with reliability and versatility. For fleets, tradies, and lifestyle buyers alike, the next-generation Navara promises to be more than just a new model — it’s the evolution of an icon built for modern Australian life.
Stay tuned for the global reveal on 19 November 2025, when Nissan lifts the covers on what’s next for one of Australia’s longest-running and best-loved utes.
