Mitsubishi Motors has taken the wraps off the all-new ASX, bringing a fresh dose of style, tech and efficiency to one of its most popular SUVs. Landing in showrooms from Q4 2025, the new ASX promises to blend the model’s long-standing reputation for reliability with a far more sophisticated package.
A New Look, a New Attitude
The new-generation ASX rides on the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Alliance CMF-B platform but carries a distinctly Mitsubishi identity. Its ‘Dynamic Shield’ front design features a blacked-out bumper, bold three-dimensional grille detailing, and full LED lighting front and rear. The wide ‘MITSUBISHI’ lettering across the tailgate gives it a modern, premium stance.
Wheel choices range from 17- to 18-inch alloys depending on grade, while higher trims add two-tone paint and extra styling cues for a more upmarket look.
Powertrain: Smaller but Smarter
Under the bonnet, Mitsubishi has swapped the old 2.0-litre petrol for a downsized yet punchier 1.3-litre turbocharged four-cylinder engine. Delivering 113kW and 270Nm, it’s paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission driving the front wheels.
Efficiency is the real headline: ADR testing shows a 16% improvement in fuel consumption (now 6.4L/100km) and a 19% cut in CO₂ emissions (142g/km). For fleet buyers and private owners alike, that means lower running costs without sacrificing performance.
Trim Levels and Pricing
At launch, three familiar grades will be available:
- ASX LS – From $37,740 RRP, with 10.4-inch Smartphone-link Display Audio, 17-inch alloys, rear camera, and driver attention monitoring.
- ASX ASPIRE – From $42,690 RRP, adding Google Built-In (Assistant, Maps, Play), 18-inch alloys, wireless charging, heated steering wheel, adaptive cruise, Mi-Pilot semi-autonomous features, and expanded safety tech.
- ASX EXCEED – From $46,490 RRP, topping the range with leather upholstery, heated front seats, panoramic sunroof, and unique interior finishes.
All grades share key safety features such as Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Prevention, Emergency Lane Assist, and Safe Distance Warning.
Tech and Comfort
Inside, the ASX gets a significant lift. Even the LS brings a 10.4-inch infotainment screen, paddle shifters, smart card entry, and climate control. Move up to ASPIRE or EXCEED and you’ll find a digital driver display, ambient lighting, floating centre console with e-shifter, and a suite of driver-assist technologies designed for convenience in traffic and on long highway runs.
The EXCEED grade adds a panoramic sunroof and premium trim details, pushing the ASX into near-luxury territory while still being backed by Mitsubishi’s robust aftersales program.
Mitsubishi’s 10/10 Diamond Advantage
Backing the new ASX is Mitsubishi’s 10-year/200,000km warranty and 10-year capped price servicing program, plus up to four years of complimentary roadside assistance. It’s one of the strongest ownership packages in the industry, designed to deliver peace of mind long after the purchase.
The ASX has long been a favourite in Australia’s small SUV market, and this all-new model looks set to keep it in the conversation with its sharper styling, smarter tech, and a more efficient engine.
