Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA) has renewed its Major National Partnership with the Royal Flying Doctor Service (RFDS), extending a collaboration that supports healthcare delivery in some of Australia’s most remote communities.
The partnership, which began in 2023, combines financial support with the supply of Isuzu D-MAX and MU-X vehicles to assist the RFDS in delivering services and supporting community programs across regional and remote areas.
IUA Managing Director Junta Matsui said the continuation of the partnership reflects the impact already achieved through the collaboration.
“This partnership has already made a genuine difference, and IUA is proud to continue working alongside the RFDS as it delivers essential services to those in regional, rural and remote communities.”
Matsui said supporting communities across Australia is an important part of the company’s broader commitment beyond vehicle sales.
“Giving back to the communities that support us is important to IUA, and extending this partnership allows us to continue recognising the RFDS for its tireless service through ongoing support of its mission, education and community engagement initiatives.”
The RFDS said the partnership has helped strengthen its ability to provide healthcare and outreach services to communities that are often far from traditional medical infrastructure.
RFDS Federation Chief Executive Officer Emma Buchanan said the relationship has played a meaningful role in supporting the organisation’s work.
“Isuzu UTE Australia’s ongoing support has been instrumental in helping us deliver on our mission, and this contract renewal reinforces the trust and shared purpose between our organisations,” Buchanan said.
She described the agreement as more than a traditional sponsorship.
“This is much more than a sponsorship, it’s a strategic relationship built on collaboration, mutual respect, and a collective commitment to creating a positive impact across the rural and remote communities in which we operate and serve.”
The RFDS uses Isuzu vehicles in several operational and outreach roles, including towing training simulators used in the Flying Doctor Education Program and supporting national events aimed at improving community awareness and health outcomes.
As one of Australia’s most recognised healthcare charities, the RFDS delivers primary healthcare and 24-hour emergency medical services to people living or travelling in rural and remote areas. The organisation also provides dental and mental health services across the country.
Operationally, the RFDS runs a significant national fleet to support its mission. The service operates 89 aircraft — making it the third largest airline by fleet size in Australia — alongside 279 road vehicles working from 23 bases around the country.
The renewed agreement ensures continued collaboration between the two organisations and creates opportunities for further initiatives supporting healthcare access and community engagement in remote regions.
