Volkswagen has unveiled the all-new Tayron SUV, completing its most comprehensive SUV range in years and offering Australian buyers a fresh alternative in the competitive large SUV market. Positioned between the Tiguan and Touareg – and alongside the electric ID.4 and ID.5 – the Tayron combines space, advanced technology, and value across both five- and seven-seat variants.
A line-up for every family
The Tayron range begins with the 110TSI Life from $48,290 (MLP), a seven-seat model that sets the benchmark for value. Standard inclusions cover 18-inch alloy wheels, a 12.9-inch infotainment system with satellite navigation, Digital Cockpit Pro, wireless charging, keyless entry, Area View 360-degree camera, and Volkswagen’s suite of driver assistance technologies including Travel Assist, Lane Assist, and Front Assist with pedestrian and cyclist monitoring.
For families prioritising space, the 150TSI Life ($53,990 MLP) offers a five-seat layout with an impressive 885 litres of boot capacity, all-wheel-drive capability, Offroad driving mode, and a 150kW turbocharged petrol engine with 2,500kg braked towing capacity.
Moving further up the range, the 150TSI Elegance ($59,490 MLP) brings a premium touch with chrome detailing, leather-appointed seats with massage, heating and ventilation, a heated steering wheel, and the option to add a Harman Kardon audio system, 15-inch navigation, and panoramic sunroof.
Capping the line-up, the 195TSI R-Line ($73,490 MLP) delivers hot-hatch levels of performance with 195kW of power and 400Nm of torque, racing from 0-100km/h in just 6.1 seconds. It adds R-Line styling, 20-inch alloys, HD Matrix LED headlights, Harman Kardon audio, and progressive steering – while still offering three-row practicality.
Designed for modern lifestyles
At 4.8 metres long, the Tayron balances SUV presence with wagon-like practicality. It offers advanced safety features including nine airbags, Park Assist Plus, Dynamic Road Sign Assist, and Side Exit Warning. For those who want individuality, options include metallic paint, the Black Style package for the R-Line, and a panoramic sunroof.
Fleet and novated lease appeal
For fleet buyers, the Tayron hits the sweet spot between running costs and versatility. The five-seat 150TSI Life in particular will appeal to organisations needing load space without compromising safety or technology, while the 195TSI R-Line provides executives with a performance-oriented option under $75,000.
Novated lease customers are also well catered for, with competitive entry pricing, generous inclusions, and the reassurance of Volkswagen’s reputation for quality and resale value.
A bold new entrant
Arjun Nidigallu, Head of Product for Volkswagen Passenger Vehicles, said the Tayron raises the bar in its class:
“The all-new Tayron is a highly competitive entrant in the mainstream large SUV segment, offering a generously equipped and supremely practical package at a price that undercuts established players.”
With the Tayron, Volkswagen has delivered a large SUV that combines spacious interiors, premium technology, and engaging performance, making it a strong contender for families, fleets, and novated lease buyers alike.
