Jaecoo Australia has confirmed pricing and specifications for its first seven-seat SUV, with the J8 Summit SHS arriving in local dealerships this month priced from $59,990 MSRP.
The large SUV sits at the top of the Jaecoo J8 range and uses the brand’s Super Hybrid System, combining a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine with three electric motors and a 34kWh battery.
Total system outputs are quoted at 315kW and 580Nm, with the electric rear motor providing all-wheel-drive capability. Jaecoo claims the J8 SHS can travel up to 169km on electric power under the NEDC test cycle, while total driving range is listed at more than 1,000km.
DC charging is supported at up to 70kW.
For buyers needing a vehicle with family, business or light towing capability, the J8 SHS has a 1,600kg braked towing rating and 750kg unbraked capacity. Luggage space is rated at 200 litres with all three rows in use, expanding to 738 litres with the third row folded.
Only one highly specified Summit variant will be offered. Standard equipment includes 20-inch alloy wheels, projector LED headlights, a head-up display, dual 12.3-inch screens, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a 14-speaker Sony audio system and a 360-degree camera.
The cabin also includes heated, ventilated and massage-equipped front seats, a panoramic sunroof, second-row window shades, ambient lighting, wireless phone charging and an in-built fragrance system.
Safety equipment includes 10 airbags, autonomous emergency braking, emergency lane keeping, adaptive cruise control and forward collision warning.
Jaecoo will support the J8 SHS with an eight-year, unlimited-kilometre vehicle warranty, eight years of capped-price servicing, an eight-year unlimited-kilometre high-voltage battery warranty and up to eight years of roadside assistance.
The J8 Summit SHS will be available in Arctic White, Carbon Black, Ocean Blue and Iridium Silver.
