The new Nissan Pathfinder will arrive in Australia with four well-equipped grades, spacious seating for up to eight and a wealth of new safety and technology features, all contributing to making it one of the most versatile family vehicles in Australia.
Comprehensively redesigned for 2022, including a dramatic new exterior design, the Pathfinder marks a return to the iconic model’s rugged roots, without compromising on modern luxury or on-road comfort.
“The new Pathfinder is both rugged and refined, capable and comfortable, and distils everything Nissan has learned over the model’s proud 30-year history in Australia into one adventure-ready and family-friendly package,” says Adam Paterson, Managing Director, Nissan Australia.
A new nine-speed automatic transmission, complete with wheel-mounted paddle shifters, now pairs with the potent V6 petrol engine (202kW and 340Nm), allowing for effortless acceleration and easy overtaking.
Nissan’s advanced Pro-PILOT semi-autonomous driving system also makes its debut on Pathfinder as a standard inclusion on the ST-L model upwards.
With capability at its core, the Pathfinders new 4WD system features direct coupling, which allows torque transfer directly on the clutch pack using oil pressure, allowing for confident, immediate take-off in low-traction situations. Meanwhile, the driver’s Mode selection – Standard, Sport, Eco, Snow, Sand, Mud/Rut and Tow – is displayed as a pop-up notification on the cluster.
Towing of braked trailers up to 2700kg is made safer and easier with specific Tow Mode and onboard trailer-stability program, while Pathfinder 4WD drive models feature Nissan’s all-new Intelligent 4WD with seven-position Drive and Terrain Mode Selector.
The new dual-pinion electric power steering system provides engaging steering with a sporty feel, while stability and confidence is bolstered by Pathfinder’s front strut and rear independent multi-link suspension design with front and rear stabiliser bars.
A major technology update sees a huge 10.8-inch Head Up Display (HUD) introduced as standard across all models, projecting key information, including turn-by-turn satellite navigation, as a key aid to keep the driver focused on the road ahead.
An upgrade to the infotainment system also spans all models, with integrated wireless Apple CarPlay and wired Android Auto, and DAB+ digital radio, four USB charging points are standard, as are two 12-volt outlets.
The Nissan Pathfinder arrives in Australia in four grades. Please note, grade names have changed in keeping with Nissan’s brand-wide language.
