Global automotive software provider Sofico has appointed Yves Bonnefont, former Chief Software Officer at Stellantis, to its Board of Directors, further enhancing its customer-focused expertise as the finance, leasing and mobility sectors transform.
Bonnefont brings extensive experience at the intersection of technology and mobility. As Chief Software Officer at Stellantis and previously Chief Executive Officer at DS Automobiles, he led major digital and electrification programs that reshaped customer experiences and operating models.
According to Sofico, his appointment reinforces the company’s commitment to keeping “a customer’s voice at the heart of strategy” as the industry shifts toward electric and connected vehicles, digital customer journeys, and new ownership models.
“I am honoured to join Sofico’s Board of Directors,” said Bonnefont. “Having worked on the OEM side, I know first-hand the complexity and pace of change in today’s automotive and mobility landscape. Finance and leasing companies need partners who not only provide technology but also understand their transformation journey. Sofico has proven it can do both, and I look forward to supporting its mission to help customers navigate this new era.”
Chief Executive Officer Wim De Bruyne described Bonnefont’s appointment as an important step in translating market changes into practical, innovative software solutions.
“We are delighted to welcome Yves. His expertise bridges the worlds of automotive manufacturing and mobility services with our customers’ reality in finance and leasing. Having this voice at our Board strengthens our ability to translate market changes into practical, innovative software solutions,” De Bruyne said.
The announcement follows a period of growth for Sofico after welcoming private-equity firm Astorg as majority shareholder in 2024. With Astorg’s backing, the company is expanding organically and through acquisitions, investing in innovation and talent, and broadening its international presence.
Charles Hubert le Baron, Partner and Head of Tech & Software at Astorg Midcap, said Bonnefont’s appointment aligns with Sofico’s strategy of connecting governance with customer realities. “Yves brings invaluable insights into the transformation shaping our customers’ businesses. His appointment reinforces Sofico’s leadership as the global reference in its field,” he said.
Bonnefont joins a Board that includes representatives from Astorg and Apheon alongside Sofico’s management team, Piet Maes and Gémar Hompes — a combination of industry experience, entrepreneurial vision and governance excellence.
