Jaecoo has announced a new partnership with Western Sydney Wanderers FC, linking the automotive brand with one of Australia’s most recognisable football clubs.
The partnership will see Jaecoo support the Wanderers during the club’s Wanderers Fives World Cup tournament and the Sydney Super Cup, which begins on July 28 with Western Sydney set to face Chelsea FC at Accor Stadium.
Omoda Jaecoo Australia Chief Commercial Officer Roy Munoz said the collaboration provided an opportunity for the brand to connect with football fans across Western Sydney and beyond.
“The A-League represents the pinnacle of professional football in Australia and New Zealand and to partner with such a prolific team within the sport is a fantastic opportunity,” Mr Munoz said.
“Jaecoo and the Wanderers go together like a ball and the back of the net; this partnership is bound to result in kicking countless goals over the coming months.”
A focus on community and fan engagement
Founded in 2012, Western Sydney Wanderers has built a strong supporter base across one of Australia’s most diverse regions. The club won the 2012/13 A-League Premiership and became the first Australian club to win the AFC Champions League in 2014.
Western Sydney Wanderers CEO Scott Hudson said the partnership aligned with the club’s focus on innovation, community and creating memorable experiences for members and supporters.
“We are delighted to welcome Jaecoo to the Western Sydney Wanderers family at what is an incredibly exciting time for our club,” Mr Hudson said.
“Jaecoo’s commitment to innovation, community and creating memorable experiences aligns strongly with our own values, and we look forward to working together across the Fives World Cup and the Sydney Super Cup to engage our members and supporters.”
Events planned for fans and MY OJ members
As part of the sponsorship, Jaecoo will offer special experiences for football fans and members of its MY OJ community.
The first is an exclusive watch party for the Socceroos’ World Cup fixture on June 26 at Wanderers Football Park.
The brand’s involvement in the Sydney Super Cup will then place Jaecoo alongside one of the major football events on the Australian sporting calendar, with the Wanderers taking on English Premier League club Chelsea FC in late July.
The partnership gives Jaecoo another platform to build brand awareness in Australia as it continues to expand its local presence, using sport and fan experiences to engage with prospective customers outside the traditional dealership environment.
