Isuzu UTE Australia is expanding choice for ute and SUV buyers with the launch of a new 2.2-litre turbo-diesel engine across the D-MAX and MU-X model ranges.
The new RZ4F-TC 2.2L engine produces 120kW and 400Nm, paired exclusively with a smooth-shifting 8-speed automatic transmission. It replaces the outgoing 1.9L engine and brings stronger performance, improved refinement, and fuel economy from as low as 6.3L/100km.
Stronger performance and towing confidence
With 255Nm available from just 1,000rpm and peak torque of 400Nm delivered between 1,600–2,400rpm, the 2.2L is designed for effortless driveability in city, highway, and off-road conditions. Importantly for fleets and recreational users, all D-MAX and MU-X models – including the new 2.2L variants – now carry a 3.5-tonne braked towing capacity, matched with a 5-star ANCAP safety rating.

Updated styling and safety
Alongside the new powertrain, Isuzu has refreshed the colour palette, introducing Wolfram Grey metallic on selected grades. Both D-MAX and MU-X continue to offer a comprehensive suite of safety technology, including Intelligent Adaptive Cruise Control, Autonomous Emergency Braking with Turn Assist, Lane Keep Assist, Blind Spot Monitoring, and Trailer Sway Control.
