Ford Australia has unveiled its refreshed 2025 F-150 range, adding a new Platinum model that redefines what luxury means in a full-size pickup. The facelift brings updated styling, upgraded tech, and a sharper focus on comfort—without compromising the legendary power and toughness that make the F-150 one of Australia’s most capable workhorses.
The new F-150 Platinum now crowns the local line-up, designed for those who want heavy-duty performance wrapped in executive-level refinement. It stands out with bold black and smoked metal accents, a gloss-black grille, 20-inch alloy wheels, auto power-deploying side steps, and a multi-folding hard tonneau cover. Underneath, a bespoke suspension tune using Continuously Controlled Dampers helps smooth out long drives while keeping stability when towing or hauling.
Inside, Ford has gone all out on comfort and technology. The Platinum’s Black Onyx interior trim, multi-adjustable massage seats, and fold-flat “Max Recline” mode transform the cabin into a mobile lounge. A 14-speaker Bang & Olufsen sound system, ambient lighting, and premium materials make the experience unmistakably high-end, while the latest driver-assist technologies enhance safety and convenience on every journey.
The Lariat variant also benefits from significant upgrades, including new LED projector headlights with dynamic bending, a distinctive chrome grille, power-folding mirrors, and the new Pro Access Tailgate—a swing-door tailgate system that provides easier access to the tray even when towing. Both the Lariat and Platinum feature this innovative design, which allows for one-handed opening and improved reach into the load bed.
Even the XLT gains a major boost for 2025, now fitted with LED lighting, larger dual 12-inch screens for infotainment and driver information, and enhanced driver-assist systems. Across the range, Ford’s commitment to combining durability with digital sophistication is clear.
All models are powered by Ford’s proven 3.5-litre EcoBoost V6, delivering 298kW and 678Nm through a 10-speed automatic transmission. The F-150 remains capable of towing up to 4,500kg braked, with improved Gross Vehicle Mass (GVM) and Gross Combination Mass (GCM) ratings that boost payload across the line-up.
Customers will continue to have the choice of short- and long-wheelbase body styles, both offering identical levels of specification for the first time. Whether you prioritise tray space, towing stability, or parking convenience, there’s now complete flexibility to choose the F-150 configuration that best fits the job.
For fleets and operators covering serious kilometres across Australia’s diverse terrain, the combination of long-range comfort, smart towing aids, and enhanced payload makes the 2025 F-150 more versatile than ever. For those who expect more from their ute—both in performance and polish—the Platinum delivers American muscle with first-class refinement.
The updated F-150 will continue to be remanufactured locally by RMA Automotive Australia in Mickleham, Victoria, with first deliveries expected in early 2026.
