Toyota Fleet Management (TFM) and Toyota for Business will mark a major milestone at the 2025 Australasian Fleet Education & Leadership Summit, celebrating ten years of collaboration with the Australasian Fleet Management Association (AfMA). Set to take place on 20–21 May at Rosehill Gardens in Sydney, the event brings together fleet professionals from across Australia and abroad for two days of education, networking and strategic insight.
The 2025 theme, “Stronger Together”, couldn’t be more fitting. Over the past decade, Toyota has worked closely with AfMA to build a more connected, innovative and sustainable fleet industry. Through programs that recognise leadership and foster development—such as the AfMA Scholarship initiative—TFM and Toyota for Business have helped shape the next generation of fleet professionals.
Between 2020 and 2025, Toyota supported nine individuals through scholarships that enabled them to participate in AfMA’s educational programs. “Toyota Fleet Management’s journey with the Australasian Fleet Management Association represents more than just a sponsorship,” said Glen Tomlinson, General Manager at Toyota Fleet Management. “It is a collaboration focused on driving positive change and creating connections with all fleet sizes serviced by both our dealer network and corporate account teams.”
Participation in the AfMA Summit has grown significantly in recent years, with over 815 attendees in 2024—a record that is expected to be surpassed in 2025. Notable increases in attendance have come from international delegates as well as strong representation from New South Wales and Victoria, reinforcing the summit’s growing importance in the global fleet conversation.
This partnership has consistently delivered value for the fleet industry through thought leadership, strategic partnerships and innovation in mobility. “Together with industry partners, we’re focused on reducing emissions, optimising fleet solutions, and shaping the future of mobility,” Tomlinson added. “We’re proud to continue supporting AfMA and driving progress in the fleet industry and very much looking forward to the 2025 Summit in May.”
Katie Thompson, General Manager of Sales at Toyota, said the summit reflects Toyota’s broader commitment to support the business needs of fleet customers. “We understand the evolving needs of fleet customers, and we’re here to be more than a vehicle provider—we’re a long-term partner in their growth,” she said. “The enduring partnership between Toyota and the Australasian Fleet Management Association continues to deliver real value to fleet professionals, driving innovation, education, and best practices across the industry.”
A highlight of the 2025 program will be the return of the popular Ride and Drive event, offering attendees the opportunity to get behind the wheel of Toyota’s latest models, including the bZ4X—the brand’s first all-electric SUV, which promises zero emissions without compromising performance or style.
Toyota’s presence at the Summit will also provide insights into how the company continues to invest in sustainable mobility solutions and technologies that help fleets lower emissions and manage operational efficiency.
The Summit is more than an annual industry gathering—it’s a platform for celebrating the people, partnerships, and ideas that will drive fleet transformation into the future. For TFM and Toyota for Business, it’s also a moment to recognise a decade of collaboration with AfMA and renew their shared commitment to innovation, safety, and sustainability in the fleet sector.
