Renault Australia is expanding the appeal of its beautifully styled and feature-packed Megane hatch, with the addition of a sporty wagon and elegant sedan.
“The all-new Renault Megane wagon and sedan enable us to broaden our offer in one of the largest and most competitive segments of the new car market,” said Mr Justin Hocevar, Renault Australia’s Managing Director.
“With the welcome return of the Megane wagon to the range, Renault now has an even more practical vehicle for families with an active lifestyle, or for business users who need significant carrying capacity as well as the comfort, safety and performance of a passenger car.
“The all-new Megane sedan is pitched right into the heart of the four-door compact market, offering above-average specification and a sharp price.
“When you combine this with our five year, unlimited kilometre warranty and our Capped Price Servicing programme, the Renault Megane range stands head and shoulders above its closest competitors,” Mr. Hocevar said.
The powertrains for the wagon and sedan are in-line with their hatch sibling, which launched in September 2016.
All-new Renault Megane wagon
The all-new Megane wagon broadly echoes the specification levels of the hatch and is available in Zen, GT-Line and the Renault Sport-enhanced GT trim levels.
The 1.6 litre engine in the GT wagon is a potent competitor for the performance sector, where load capacity is prized as much as acceleration and handling. The Zen and GT-Line are powered by the same advanced, high-efficiency and fun to drive turbo charged 1.2 litre engine in the hatch, along with the seven-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) automated transmission for the first time.
Standard features include six airbags, stability control, Hill Start Assist, electronic park brake, front and rear parking sensors, rear view camera, R-LINK 2 multimedia system with satellite navigation and a seven inch capacitive touchscreen, Arkamys audio with eight speakers, automatic dusk-sensing headlights and automatic rain-sensing windscreen wipers.
The Zen can be optioned with an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) Pack (Advanced Emergency Braking Inter-urban, Lane Departure Warning and automatic high/low beam function) as well as a Sunroof Pack (electric sunroof, automatic dimming rear view mirror and sun visor with illuminated mirror).
The GT-Line adds ADAS as standard with the addition of Blind Spot Warning, Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) and Distance Warning, side parking sensors, R-LINK 2 with an 8.7 inch capacitive touchscreen and satellite navigation, instrument panel with a colour TFT screen that can be personalised, Alcantara upholstery for the seats, MULTI-SENSE system, 17 inch Decaro alloy wheels, GT-Line signature badging, rear privacy glass and electric panoramic sunroof.
The GT-Line can be optioned with a Premium Pack (Bose audio system and Pure Vision LED headlights) and 18 inch Grand Tour alloy wheels.
The GT features Launch Control and Multi Downshift, as well as 4CONTROL all-wheel steering, combined with Renault Sport-tuned suspension, features such as black and blue Alcantara upholstery, gloss black honeycomb front upper and lower grille, Renault Sport GT front bumper, 18 inch Magny Cours alloy wheels.
The GT can be optioned with a Premium Pack (Bose audio system and Pure Vision LED headlights) and Sunroof Pack (electric sunroof, automatic dimming rear view mirror and sun visor with illuminated mirror).
