Mitsubishi Motors Australia introduces advanced safety features and design updates to its popular ASX SUV range.
The ASX line-up will also introduce a new mid-level LS ADAS (Advanced Driver-Assist Systems) model with Forward Collision Mitigation, Lane Departure Warning and automatic high beam features. Top-of-the-range XLS also adopts these features as standard.
Mitsubishi’s Dynamic Shield front end features a revised design with integrated LED daytime running lamps and fog lamp lower bezel. Exterior changes also extend to the rear with a new bumper and tailgate design.
Additionally, all 2018 models gain the latest smartphone connectivity technology with Mitsubishi’s Smartphone link Display Audio (SDA) and DAB radio. To complement the new smartphone technology afforded by the SDA system, the new centre console design has two USB ports and a mobile phone tray with removable padded liner.
Changes to the floor console panel include a geometric design silver finish, soft knee rests, new armrest with a larger console box and new design automatic transmission shift lever. To reduce cabin noise levels, the MY18 ASX has been upgraded with new acoustic absorption materials introduced throughout the body.
Mitsubishi Motors Australia’s Chief Operating Officer, Tony Principe, said ASX is a very popular model in the range due to its combination of style, features and practicality.
“Through continuous improvement of one of our most popular SUV models we have seen the ASX sales steadily grow and it is now Australia’s best-selling small SUV in 2017,” he said.
“The new ASX continues to evolve in this competitive market place with the introduction of advanced safety features, the latest smartphone connectivity and styling updates to maintain its well-earned position in the small SUV segment,” said Mr Principe.
ASX has a comprehensive safety package and a five-star ANCAP safety rating, including seven airbags, reversing sensors and camera and RISE Reinforced Impact Safety Evolution safety cell body structure.
The 2018 ASX will start from $25,000 recommended retail and will go on sale around Australia on 7th September 2017.
