MG Motor Australia is turning heads at the 2025 Light Commercial Motor Show in Sydney this week with a strong presence that highlights its growing commitment to fleet buyers across Australia.
Held on 7–8 August at ICC Sydney, the event is a key date in the calendar for fleet decision-makers, offering a platform for leading manufacturers to connect with business and government buyers. MG Motor is seizing the opportunity to demonstrate how its product portfolio is evolving to meet the changing needs of Australian fleets.
Spotlight on Fleet-Ready Vehicles
MG’s stand showcases three models that reflect the brand’s push into the commercial and fleet segments:
- MGU9 Ute – A rugged, practical ute designed for small and medium businesses, the MGU9 is built for everyday work and weekend versatility. It combines toughness with comfort and feature-rich design, appealing to operators looking for value without compromise.
- MG HS Hybrid+ SUV – With hybrid power and sharp looks, the HS Hybrid+ offers lower emissions and reduced running costs, making it an ideal fleet option for organisations transitioning to more sustainable transport solutions.
- MG QS SUV – A spacious and genuinely practical 7-seater, the QS is tailored for executive or specialist use with intuitive technology, a comfortable cabin, and modern connectivity – all essential for fleet applications that prioritise both passenger experience and efficiency.
Test drives of the HS Hybrid+ and QS are available on-site, allowing fleet managers and novated lease buyers to get a real-world feel for the vehicles’ comfort, drivability and practicality.
Insights and Innovation on Show
Beyond the vehicles, MG Motor’s product experts are contributing to panel discussions throughout the show, covering hot-button topics such as sustainability, lifecycle cost optimisation, and emerging fleet technologies. These sessions provide deeper insights into MG’s future plans and its investment in the Australian fleet market.
Dane Henricksen, National Fleet Manager at MG Motor Australia, said the show was an important opportunity to connect with the fleet community.
“We’re excited to engage directly with fleet professionals and decision-makers,” said Henricksen. “We know their businesses depend on us and our range is engineered with an eye to the future and delivering dependable, cost-effective, and forward-thinking vehicle solutions.”
MG Motor’s Growing Fleet Credentials
Since launching locally in 2016, MG Motor has quickly moved from a challenger brand to a top-ten player in the Australian market. According to VFACTS 2024 results, MG ranked 7th in new vehicle sales and retained top positions for the MG3 light hatch and ZS compact SUV.
The all-electric MG4 also claimed the 2023 Carsales Car of the Year title, while recent launches of hybrid variants of the MG3 and ZS further expanded the brand’s low-emissions offering.
In 2025, MG continues to push innovation with the launch of the premium “Intelligence in Motion” sub-brand featuring the new IM5 and IM6 models, and the arrival of the globally awarded electric Cyberster as part of its centenary celebrations.
