Isuzu Australia Limited (IAL) has announced the appointment of Mr Steven Goulding as the Australian truck market leader’s new National Fleet Sales Manager.
Mr Goulding joined IAL earlier this year, bringing with him over 20 years’ management experience in the automotive and capital equipment hire industries.
His most recent role was as General Manager of Jet Vac Equipment, where he spent three successful years managing major customer portfolios and overseeing the sale of hydro evacuation equipment imported from America.
Mr Goulding fills the gap left when Les Spaltman, who served as National Fleet Sales Manager for three years, was appointed IAL’s National Sales Manager in October 2016.
Mr Goulding said he’s been able to hit the ground running, largely due to the efforts of his predecessor.
“We’ve kicked off 2017 superbly and we’re certainly ahead of where we were at the same time last year,” Mr Goulding said.
“Its early stages but we’re tracking extremely well. We have specific marketing campaigns in train focusing on Isuzu’s Ready to Work units in 2017, so it’s exciting times ahead.”
IAL Director and Chief Operating Officer, Phil Taylor, welcomed Steven to the Isuzu family.
“We’re extremely pleased to have someone of Steven’s experience and pedigree on board for what promises to be a very busy 2017,” Mr Taylor said.
“Steven has a unique skill-set that we’ve actively sought and through the work of his predecessor, Les Spaltman, the ground has been prepared for what we hope will be a long and industrious relationship in this customer facing role.”
Mr Goulding said his experience as a procurer of capital equipment had given him an insight into how Isuzu can build stronger relationships within the marketplace.
“Having been on the other side of the fence, I’ve had experience with truck manufacturers and truck dealers coming to me, looking to sell,” he said.
“Right across the Isuzu team, whether it be at head office or throughout the dealer network, we’re establishing a clear focus on how we service and build our customer relationships.
“I see personal contact and strengthening relationships as top priorities for myself.”
Mr Goulding is looking forward to the challenges ahead and is eager to work with the team that has kept Isuzu Trucks at the top of Australia’s truck market for 28 years.
“I’m very fortunate that we have a wealth of experienced and capable zone managers,” he said.
“And of course the dealers have done a great job with the zone managers to cement our position at number one for 28 consecutive years.
“So if we can keep up the motivation – and the products and support – we’re looking to build on that.”
