Mitsubishi Motors Australia has confirmed its full Triton range is now backed by a five-star ANCAP safety rating – the highest available – across all body styles and variants. That includes the recently announced Dual Cab Chassis, Club Cab Pickup and Cab Chassis, and Single Cab Chassis models.
Originally, the Triton was the first dual-cab ute to be awarded five stars under ANCAP’s latest and toughest testing protocols. Now, the expanded line-up joins the flagship dual cab in sharing the top-tier safety rating – a major win for Fleet Managers and novated lease drivers who prioritise occupant protection, advanced safety tech, and peace of mind.
The Triton’s results under the 2023–2025 ANCAP protocols remain strong:
- Adult Occupant Protection: 86%
- Child Occupant Protection: 89%
- Vulnerable Road User Protection: 73%
- Safety Assist: 70%
According to ANCAP, these scores reflect the Triton’s high level of occupant protection in crash testing, as well as its standard fitment of advanced driver-assistance systems like AEB, lane support, and a full suite of airbags across the range.
For fleets operating in regional areas or with mixed body requirements – like dual cab utes for supervisors and single cab chassis for field crews – the full coverage of the five-star rating removes complexity in procurement and simplifies vehicle choice across the organisation.
Mitsubishi’s commitment to safety at every spec level is a timely reminder that fleet utility vehicles no longer mean compromises. Whether you’re buying for crash compliance, driver wellbeing, or ESG reporting, the new Triton makes it easier to tick all the boxes.
