PEUGEOT Australia has unveiled the all-new 5008 Hybrid SUV, a seven-seat family SUV that blends European design with hybrid technology – offering efficiency, comfort, and flexibility for both private and business buyers.
Smarter Hybrid Power, No Plug Required
Unlike plug-in hybrids, the 5008 Hybrid uses a self-charging hybrid system that pairs a 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine with a 15.6kW electric motor for a combined output of 107kW. Power is delivered through a smooth six-speed dual-clutch e-DCS automatic transmission.
The result? A seamless hybrid drive with reduced fuel use and emissions. Official figures show just 5.1L/100km combined fuel consumption and 116g/km CO₂ emissions, making the 5008 one of the most efficient seven-seat SUVs in its class. With drive modes including Eco, Sport, Snow, Mud, and Sand, the 5008 also offers flexibility for different road conditions.
For fleets, this means lower running costs without the complexity of charging infrastructure – an appealing option when balancing NVES compliance with driver convenience.
Interior: A Driver-Focused Digital Experience
Inside, the 5008 showcases PEUGEOT’s Panoramic i-Cockpit® with a sweeping 21-inch curved HD display, a compact steering wheel with integrated controls, and a secondary touchscreen for personalised shortcuts.
Technology extends to wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, OTA updates, and even AI-powered voice assistance. The cabin is built for comfort on long trips with 3-zone climate control, sliding and tilting second-row seats, and a maximum of 2,232L cargo space when seats are folded.

- AEB with pedestrian & cyclist detection

- Pre-paid service plans: 3 years ($1,130), 4 years ($1,730), 5 years ($1,995).
This gives both business fleets and novated lease buyers predictable running costs.
Why It Matters for Fleets & Novated Leasing
With the introduction of NVES, fleets are under pressure to reduce average CO₂ emissions. The PEUGEOT 5008 Hybrid offers:
- Lower emissions without relying on plug-in infrastructure.
- Seven-seat flexibility, ideal for pool vehicles or large families on novated leases.
- Premium European design that enhances driver satisfaction and corporate image.
- Predictable service costs for better budgeting.
For novated lease buyers, the 5008 combines efficiency with luxury features, making it a strong contender in the premium seven-seat SUV space.
