The 2026 Fleet News Group Awards program is giving the fleet industry something it has never had before — a direct voice in deciding who deserves recognition for excellence.
Rather than relying solely on a closed judging panel, the Fleet News Group Awards will combine expert judging with industry voting to create a transparent and community-driven awards process.
Nominations for the Fleet Management Excellence Awards are now open and will close at the end of June. After nominations close, an independent judging panel will review all submissions and select three finalists in each category.
The finalists will be announced in August, marking the beginning of the next stage of the awards process — industry voting.
From August through to the end of September, everyone working within the fleet industry will have the opportunity to cast one vote in each category. The finalist that receives the highest number of votes will be named the winner.
The approach has been designed to ensure the awards reflect the opinions and experiences of the people who work in the industry every day.
Fleet Managers, suppliers, service providers, manufacturers, consultants, and industry professionals all play a role in shaping best practice across the sector. The Fleet News Group Awards program aims to recognise that collective knowledge by allowing the industry itself to help determine the winners.
The voting process will also be transparent. During most of the voting period, a live tally will be displayed on the awards website so finalists and voters can see how categories are progressing. The tally will then be hidden during the final weeks of voting to build anticipation ahead of the awards presentation event in October.
For finalists, the process provides something more meaningful than simply winning an award judged behind closed doors. Winners will know they were recognised and supported by their peers across the fleet industry.
The awards program has been developed to celebrate organisations and individuals that demonstrate leadership, innovation, safety, sustainability, and operational excellence in fleet management.
Categories include Fleet of the Year, Safe Fleet of the Year, Fleet Sustainability Award, Fleet Technology Award, and Fleet Supplier of the Year.
The goal is to create an awards program that genuinely reflects the voice of the industry while encouraging greater engagement and recognition across the fleet sector.
By opening the voting process to the broader fleet community, the awards program gives every industry participant an opportunity to contribute and help recognise the organisations setting the benchmark for excellence.
The winners of the 2026 Fleet News Group Awards will be announced at the awards presentation event in Sydney on 14 October 2026.
