The NRMA booked Sydney Motorsport Park was the venue for their latest Fleet EV Drive Day. Over two days there were 200 fleet industry people in attendance. Everyone got the opportunity to drive a range of electric vehicles including cars, SUV, trucks and scooters. There was also a range of exhibitors with vehicles and charging technology on display.
The Good Car Company was there with new and used EVs on display. The range of vehicles attracted plenty of attention with a new Peugeot electric van available for less than $100k.
Anthony Broese van Groenou, Founder and Director at The Good Car Company, was fielding questions from corporate and government Fleet Managers about the possibility of sourcing a used zero emission vehicle at half the new car price.
They have plans to import 2,000 electric vehicles in 2023 which will make them one of the biggest EV importer/retailers in Australia. Anthony also shared the details on the Rivian they had just ordered.
BYD were represented by automotive partner AP Eagers. They are now ready to talk to fleet buyers after satisfying the initial demand from retail buyers. And it was the first time most attendees had sat in a BYD.
From the outside the dragon inspired design is very attractive despite the Build Your Dreams badge across tailgate. The interior takes longer to love. Though each Fleet Manger we spoke with said they could see one in their fleet based on the list of safety features included in the price. With 1,200 cars per month turning up, Fleet Managers should be expecting a call.
