Ergon Energy is the latest company to equip its fleet with Mitsubishi’s cutting edge electric vehicle technology, through a fleet of new Outlander PHEV plug-in hybrid SUVs.
The Queensland electricity company has procured the Outlander PHEVs as part of its strategy to reduce carbon emissions and embrace emerging technologies, which includes promoting the benefits of electric vehicles.
Mitsubishi’s Outlander PHEV is the world’s first plug-in hybrid SUV and heralds of new era of practical, sustainable automotive technology.
The Outlander PHEV – which stands for Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle – boasts combined fuel efficiency of just 1.9-litres per 100 kilometres* – the lowest official ADR fuel consumption figure of any SUV sold in Australia. Outlander PHEV’s CO2 emissions are also super low at 44 gm/km.
The Outlander PHEV has all of the user-friendly attributes of a regular SUV, with its generous five-seat interior and cargo area, 1,500kg braked towing capacity and four-wheel drive capability.
The Outlander PHEV also offers motorists the efficiency and quiet operation of EV performance without compromising comfort and practicality.
Mitsubishi Motors Australia CEO Mutsuhiro Oshikiri said Mitsubishi Motors is pleased to support Ergon Energy and its efforts to raise awareness of electric vehicles and environmental sustainability.

Ergon Energy Chief Executive Ian McLeod said his company is committed to promoting the wider adoption of EVs across Queensland.

The development of plug-in hybrid and electric vehicle technology is a key focus for Mitsubishi Motors and will be central to its future product line-up. Mitsubishi Motors expects EVs and PHEVs to represent around 20 per cent of its production by 2020.
