Chery has expanded its popular Tiggo 4 line-up with the addition of hybrid power, giving Australian buyers one of the best-value hybrid SUVs on the market.
Since its late-2024 launch, the Tiggo 4 has been a hit with buyers. It became Australia’s best-selling small SUV in July 2025 and has already racked up 11,979 sales. Along the way, it has picked up a string of awards including Best Urban Car Under $30K (2025 Drive Car of the Year), Best Small SUV – Best Value (Wheels 2025), and CarExpert’s Choice Award for Affordable Small SUVs.
Now, Chery is looking to build on that success by offering a series-parallel hybrid powertrain across two new variants: the entry-level Urban ($29,990 driveaway) and the top-spec Ultimate ($34,990 driveaway).
Powertrain and efficiency
The Tiggo 4 Hybrid pairs a 1.5-litre petrol engine (71kW/120Nm) with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motor delivering 150kW/310Nm. Working together, the system produces seamless performance for city and highway driving, while returning just 5.4L/100km combined fuel consumption – a key win for cost-conscious drivers and fleets.

Fleet and novated lease appeal
For fleets, the Tiggo 4 Hybrid presents a low-cost entry into hybrid technology with strong efficiency benefits that reduce whole-of-life costs. Its advanced safety suite, long warranty, and capped-price servicing schedule also help manage risk and running costs.
For novated lease customers, the Urban variant stands out as Australia’s cheapest hybrid SUV at under $30K driveaway, meaning lower lease payments and significant tax savings while still delivering premium tech and efficiency.
Lucas Harris, Chief Operating Officer at Chery Australia, summed it up:
“The Tiggo 4 Hybrid combines smart design, real-world efficiency and unbeatable value – all in one package.”
