BMW Australia has continued to enhance its suite of technology offerings with introduction of the Remote Engine Start function.
The feature, which will debut on the upcoming 4 Series and both the new 5 Series and M5 Competition, remotely starts the vehicle’s engine for up to 15 minutes at a time using the BMW ConnectedDrive App from any location to optimise the cabin conditions before the driver and their occupants enter the vehicle. The function can also be activated via the BMW vehicle key at a range of 30-70 metres.
Depending on the vehicle’s equipment level, functions such as seat heating, seat ventilation and steering wheel heating can also be controlled.
The new feature provides customers with added convenience and additional comfort by preheating in cold conditions and precooling in hot weather.
