The Site Tour has become a key part of every IPWEA Fleet Conference and is a great opportunity for delegates to explore best practice fleet management in action. Last year delegates visited a Kia dealership in Brisbane to learn how technicians and workshop staff are implementing EV service routines.
In 2024 the Site Tour is being held at the start of the conference so attendees can arrive from interstate early on the Monday and make the most of the day.
The first stop will be BOC’s Bulwer Island where they are making renewable hydrogen using solar energy generated onsite. You’ll take a tour to see the production facilities, and you’ll learn from the experts about the benefits of green hydrogen and its potential application as a transport fuel for your fleet.
Once you’ve seen how the green hydrogen is produced, we’ll visit Australia’s first service station based hydrogen refuelling station located at the bp Port of Brisbane Truckstop where QFleet’s hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) are refuelled in under five minutes.
After learning about hydrogen the tour will switch its focus to electric vehicle charging infrastructure with a stop at Royal Brisbane and Womens’s Hospital. The hospital is run by Metro North Health who has committed to transition 100% of the passenger fleet to zero emission vehicles (ZEV) by 2026. Part of this project is making 100% of the car parking used by fleet vehicles ready for EV charging infrastructure. With a fleet size of 384 assets, this is an enormous challenge that is well underway.
