Isuzu UTE’s refreshed 25MY MU-X range is proving to be one of Australia’s standout SUV success stories in 2025, setting new benchmarks for sales and cementing its reputation as a go-anywhere, family-friendly powerhouse.
After finishing 2024 as Australia’s 6th best-selling 4×4 overall – and an impressive 3rd in the ‘SUV Large < $80K’ segment – the MU-X entered 2025 with momentum. Deliveries in the first quarter were restricted by limited supply of the outgoing 24MY model, but the arrival of the facelifted 25MY MU-X in March changed everything.
Record-Breaking Sales
Customer demand surged immediately. The MU-X posted 1,643 units in May, followed by a staggering 2,033 units in June – an all-time monthly record. July continued the run with 1,635 deliveries, setting a new July benchmark.
This three-month performance was the first time the Isuzu UTE Dealer Network delivered more than 5,000 MU-X vehicles in a single quarter, with 5,311 units in total – a clear reflection of the model’s broad appeal.
Interest in the top-spec X-TERRAIN grade has been particularly strong, as customers look for a blend of premium comfort, cutting-edge technology, and rugged capability.
A Vehicle That Resonates
“With its effortless combination of capability, value, and versatility, our ambition was for the new MU-X to be well received,” said Mr Junta Matsui, Managing Director – Isuzu UTE Australia (IUA). “But these results have confirmed just how strongly Isuzu UTE’s all-purpose SUV resonates with a broad cross section of Australians.”

Looking Beyond 2024’s Record
The MU-X has been steadily climbing the national sales ladder. In 2024, 17,978 units were delivered, making it Australia’s 15th best-selling vehicle overall. With 2025 already shaping up as another record-breaker, Isuzu UTE is working closely with international partners to increase local supply.
From September, stock volumes will be lifted, giving Australian customers greater opportunity to secure their MU-X sooner rather than later. Dealers are already urging customers to place orders to avoid extended wait times.
Simplifying the Ownership Journey
Supporting this growth, IUA has introduced Isuzu UTE Finance and Isuzu UTE Insurance, both available nationally through the Dealer Network. These initiatives aim to streamline the buying experience, making it easier for customers to finance, insure, and drive away in their new MU-X.
