AfMA has announced today that the 2020 Australasian Fleet Conference & Exhibition schedule for May has been postponed due to concerns about COVID-19.
AfMA’s board have unanimously supported the postponement of our conference from May to a date yet to be confirmed. We are working with the Melbourne Convention and Exhibition Centre, Crown Casino, Moreton Hire, our MC Jon Faine and others to find a suitable date in October/November 2020.
The decision to postpone was simple once we put aside the financial losses. We operate in a risk based industry and therefore actively support the advice from the World Health Organisation (WHO), various government bodies, our WH&S obligations to our team and our social responsibility to our members, non-members and their families.
Until further notice, AfMA is limiting all travel and face-to-face meetings of any size. Our next range of Professional Development Forums are scheduled in July and August and its hoped we’ll all have a better understanding of what the new normal is in relation to COVID-19 by June.
