Water Corporation is inviting organisations to submit a bid for the provision of finance for their car and light commercial vehicle fleet of approximately 1,100 vehicles. They want the successful bidder to purchase their existing fleet and then lease it back on an operating lease basis.
The tender was announced in national papers last week including the Australian Financial Review and the closing date is Wednesday 22nd June 2016.
Water Corporation are a business enterprise, owned by the WA Government and accountable to the sole shareholder, the Minister for Water.
It’s services, projects and activities span over 2.6 million square kilometres with regional offices in Perth, Bunbury, Albany, Karratha, Geraldton, Northam and Kalgoorlie. They have over 3,000 employees and participate in alliances to manage an asset base of over $15 billion in water supply, wastewater, drainage infrastructure and bulk water for irrigation.
It is estimated that the tender will include approximately 200 passenger vehicles and 900 light commercial vehicles. Water Corporation also have a large number of plant items, several hundred trucks and some marine items.
As one of the largest fleets in Western Australia travelling 26 million kilometres each year it has been involved in several leading initiatives including using LPG powered vehicles and tree planting programs in an effort to be carbon neutral. They have also had a focus on safety with vehicles being fitted reversing sensors and ShuRoo devices.
