With a new novated lease you want the car to be practical for your family, so adding some accessories at the start is a great way to wrap them all into the same monthly payment. Fleet Auto News has contacted leasing companies and vehicle manufacturers to find the top 5 accessories in 2021.
The top 5 accessories fitted to new vehicles and novated leases are:
- Tow bar
- Roof racks
- Floor mats
- Window tinting
- Side steps
Tow bar – If you think there’s a chance that you might ever tow something, or need a bike rack, then it’s a great accessory to get fitted when the car is new.
Roof racks – It’s amazing how useful these can be when you have a growing family. Once you have the racks installed you can transport things from Bunnings or Ikea, carry a surfboard or paddle board, or add a luggage pod for the holidays.
Floor mats – These were the most popular accessory for many years and sales people often included them for free when there was enough margin in the deal. Now, they are designed for each model and worth the expense to avoid wear and tear on the carpet.
Window tint – In 2021 most new cars come with UV protection in the glass. Some models even have the windows tinted as standard so there’s no need to add it. It’s still popular because it looks good and factory tinting isn’t as dark as some people like.
Side steps – Are they practical or a fashion accessory? Either way they do look good on 4X4 utes and large SUVs.
Some of the other accessories that are popular for novated lease cars in 2021 are:
- Bull bar or nudge bar
- Electric brakes for towing
- Weather proof roll-up ute tray covers
- All-terrain tyres and black alloy wheels on 4X4 utes
- Cargo/tub liners
The great thing about including accessories in a novated lease is the way the cost is spread over the lease term. For example, the roof racks that cost $720 are only $20 a month when spread over three years. And after tax it’s even less!
