suzu Australia Limited (IAL) is pleased to announce that Nic Topping will take on the role of Product Development Manager for Australia’s market-leading truck brand.
Mr Topping moves into his new role after serving as a Product Development Engineer at Ford Australia, and is eager to sink his teeth into this “dynamic, hands-on role” in the heavy vehicle sector.
“It’s going to be an excellent opportunity to make sure every aspect of an Isuzu truck – from the emissions coming out of the exhaust, to the appointments in the cabin – has been engineered for application-specific purposes and then tested rigorously in a local environment,” Mr Topping said.
“IAL wants to present the best possible product offering to the Australian truck buyer, and I’m excited to play a part in the team around me as we strive towards that goal.”
In the Product Development Manager role, Mr Topping will be working with the Australian and Japanese engineering teams to ensure that the Isuzu truck range continues to offer the right mix of technology, efficiency, power, reliability and ease of operation that the brand is known for and that the last 28 years of success has been built on.
IAL Director and Chief Operating Officer, Phil Taylor, welcomed Mr Topping to his new position.
“The superior products that IAL has offered Australian businesses have helped make Isuzu the nation’s top-selling truck brand for 28 years running,” Mr Taylor said.
“Looking ahead to the future, Nic’s expertise in the field of product development is going to make sure every Isuzu being driven out of a dealer’s yard is best engineered for Australia’s unique operating conditions.
“The IAL team feels fortunate to have someone with Nic’s extensive experience developing emissions systems on board. In addition to his experience at Ford Australia, Nic worked for European OEMs for over 15 years. During that time he helped pioneer emissions systems technology that met the Euro VI benchmarks of efficiency and pollution reduction.
“With the introduction of a Euro VI mandate on the horizon in Australia, tapping Nic’s extensive knowledge and direct experience with the implementation of emissions systems will help ensure IAL’s product offering remains both ahead of the legislative curve and competing manufacturers.
“We’re excited to have Nic on board as Product Development Manager, and are extremely confident that his appointment will help IAL uphold its proud tradition of excellence and innovation in the heavy vehicle industry.”
