Belgium-based Sofico, the privately-owned provider of global fleet, leasing and mobility software whose systems now manage more than 1m vehicles worldwide, first opened an Australian office in Sydney in 2002 in response to demand from a growing Australian fleet and leasing market.
Today, the company’s systems manage over 300,000 cars in Australia and New Zealand for a variety of fleet management and leasing companies, both captive and non-captive.
“Since we opened the Australian office, we have slowly taken over the market and are currently the market leader,” said Koenraad Van Grimbergen, General Manager of Sofico Services.
As a result of its success in Australia, Sofico has made further investment in the Asia-Pacific region and in 2012 opened an office in Tokyo, with the intention of extending its customer base in new countries in the region.
Just over three years ago, the Japan Automotive Leasing Association (JALA) accepted Sofico Services Japan as a associate member of the Tokyo Automotive Leasing Association (TALA), only the second foreign company ever to achieve the distinction.
Sofico’s Miles system
Sofico’s Miles fleet software solution has proved the perfect tool for leasing companies, fleet management suppliers and finance providers across Australia, and throughout the world.
Miles is an end-to-end enterprise solution for vehicle leasing, financing, fleet and mobility management, covering the full contract life-cycle and forming a key component in the fleet user’s application landscape.
It offers solutions for different markets and for different kinds of companies, focusing on delivering the best functionality for leasing industry-specific issues and requirements.
The Miles sales and quotes modules and built-in CRM functionalities enable back-office staff to follow up on leads and quotes, while the customer-facing front office provides broker access and offers self-service facilities to fleet managers or drivers via either the web or their mobile device.
Meanwhile, through the contract management and mobility management modules, Miles processes the initial contracts as well as any contract changes throughout the contract lifetime.
All practical matters surrounding the contract and the services included in the contract are handled by the Miles fleet operations module while all finance streams are managed by the invoicing and accounting and collections modules.
At the end of the contract, the Miles remarketing module takes care of the asset, allowing fleet customers to focus on the next contract. The asset can be added to an internal vehicle pool for reuse on a different contract or sold off through internal or external sales channels.
