Adelaide-based freight company Adelaide Trucks & Vans (ATV) has stepped up its safety game by equipping its entire fleet with advanced AI-powered dashcam technology from Linxio. The rollout sees all 51 vehicles in the fleet fitted with the Linxio Vision system — a move designed to enhance driver safety, improve operational performance, and strengthen compliance with Australia’s heavy vehicle regulations.
The Linxio Vision dashcams use artificial intelligence and machine learning to monitor and detect unsafe driver behaviours such as mobile phone use, harsh driving, unsecured seatbelts, fatigue, and even microsleeping. A voice assistant in the cabin provides real-time alerts and corrective guidance, while the system also captures high-definition footage from front-facing, rear-facing and driver-facing cameras.
All video and data are transmitted live to ATV fleet managers, giving them instant access to insights that can help prevent incidents before they happen. The cameras can also recognise road hazards such as pedestrians, providing another layer of safety for drivers and other road users.
Managing Director Mansij (Money) Bhan said the investment in Linxio’s technology reflects ATV’s ongoing commitment to innovation and safety.
“This investment represents a major step forward in our efforts to protect our drivers, improve road safety, and deliver even better service to our customers,” Bhan said.
“The Linxio Vision dashcam and advanced fleet GPS tracking are providing immediate, actionable insights that have reduced accidents and enhanced operational efficiency.”
The partnership also supports ATV’s responsibilities under the Chain of Responsibility within the National Heavy Vehicle Regulations framework. By tracking driver behaviour and vehicle movements in real time, fleet managers can ensure drivers are taking proper breaks, maintaining safe practices, and adhering to delivery schedules — all while reducing compliance risk.
Each ATV truck is now fitted with three high-definition cameras:
- A front-facing camera for external hazards and incidents,
- A rear-facing camera to monitor freight security,
- And a driver-facing camera to assess attentiveness and in-cabin behaviour.
Sydney-based Linxio has become a major player in GPS tracking and fleet technology, now supporting more than 5,000 clients globally. General Manager Jimmy Mao said the Linxio mission is to ensure every journey ends safely.
“Our focus is on providing innovative solutions that optimise fleet performance, improve operational efficiency and importantly, enhance safety for drivers and all road users,” Mao said.
