We always talk cars in the FAN office though there are many different mobility options available for businesses that fleet managers need to consider when developing plans for the next 10 years.
Zoomo, the world leader for electric last mile delivery bikes, today announced the launch of its highest performance utility e-bike yet, the Zoomo One. With a focus on speed, safety and durability specs, the Zoomo One is built to supplant petrol mopeds and accelerate the move towards carbon-neutral cities.
The Ultimate Delivery Machine
Built with modern delivery needs in mind, the Zoomo One is set to be the vehicle-of-choice for food and grocery delivery drivers.
The bike combines top speeds (assisted top speed of 45kmh) and unmatched utility specs (60kg carrying capacity, the equivalent of over 85 water bottles) to offer an unforgettable ride that rivals even the most sophisticated petrol mopeds on our roads today.
To add to this, the Zoomo One comes equipped with world-class safety features including integrated, advanced LED lights all round, with turn-signal indicating and a brake-lever activated rear light to ensure peace of mind for riders on the roads.
The bike was designed to keep riders on the road for a full working day, with a 1kWh swappable battery as a base, and options to expand capacity.
But that’s not all, as the Zoomo One offers businesses impressive customisation. For the brands who want to be noticed on the roads, the bike includes modular fairings for custom branding, colours and logos. It also comes fitted with advanced IOT and security features to provide valuable data and ultimately, simplify delivery fleet management.
The Zoomo One is more than a bike. Thanks to Zoomo’s full service offering it is a turn-key solution for riders and delivery businesses that includes fleet management software, vehicle maintenance and financing options, something unique in the sector.
The Change Maker
The Zoomo One is a leading example of Australian innovation, however national regulation means that the bike is not yet road legal in New South Wales or Victoria.
Currently, Australian legislation does not allow the motor on e-bikes to assist past 25km/h, nor can a motor exceed 250w while in use on public roads. Over the pond, legislation in the United States and Europe allows e-bikes to reach 45km/h. The Zoomo One is therefore fully road legal in these markets, and will eliminate the need for petrol mopeds on their roads.
“The Zoomo One will be the end of the petrol moped – but Australian regulation needs to catch-up for this to become a reality,” says Mina Nada, Zoomo CEO and Co-Founder.
Zoomo hopes that the release of its new innovative home-grown technology will trigger further conversations about e-bike regulations in Australia, and aims to work with the government to change their position so that e-bikes in Australia can meet their full potential.
The company supports the recent NSW Productivity Commission Report’s recommendation of bringing Australian e-bike laws in line with those in the United States and Europe. The bike will be made available nationally pending movements in government regulation.
“The Zoomo One will be a critical catalyst in fuelling the EV revolution. It is a true sector disruptor that will displace noisy and pollutive mopeds, and provide the most sustainable way to deliver bulky packages. The Zoomo One is the obvious substitute to smaller, gas-vehicles on our roads,” adds Nada.
In the United States, the United Kingdom and Europe the bike has an RRP of USD $4,000 with additional options for software, servicing and financing prices also tailored depending on fleet size.
