Hyundai has revealed details and pricing for its incoming 2025 Tucson range refresh, with a clear focus on hybrid powertrains and upgraded technology – but diesel power is gone for good.
The new petrol/electric Hybrid powertrain comprises a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine and an electric motor, producing a combined 172kW/264Nm and capable of frugal 5.3l/100km fuel use.
Hyundai will still offer the carryover 115kW/192Nm 2.0-litre petrol and 132kW/264Nm 1.6-litre turbocharged petrol powertrains within the range.
While all engine options are available with standard front-wheel drive, there is a choice of all-wheel drive for 1.6-litre petrol and 1.6-litre petrol hybrid models.
The new model features a first-in-class Panoramic Curved Display incorporating 12.3-inch digital cluster and infotainment displays, bringing the convenience of wireless Apple Car Play, BluelinkTM Connected Car Services and Over-The-Air (OTA) remote software update capability to the range..
An exterior redesign features new bumpers and lighting, and a more refined and spacious interior featuring column-type Shift By Wire drive selection and a floating centre console with upgraded wireless charging pad.
Hyundai’s extensive SmartSenseTM safety suite has been improved, with the addition of Highway Driving Assist (HDA) and a new 12.0-inch Head-Up Display presents key driving and navigation information.
The new hybrid Tucson will also be able to tow up to 1,900kg, while its petrol-only counterparts will be able to pull a maximum 1650kg.
“The fourth-generation Tucson has become one of the most popular models in the competitive Medium SUV segment – from young adults to families and empty-nesters – with more than 53,000 sold in Australia since its launch in 2021,” Hyundai Motor Company Australia Chief Executive Officer, Ted Lee said.
“Now, 2025 Tucson broadens the nameplate’s appeal with new Hybrid powertrains, a range of new and upgraded technologies, and updated styling inside and out.”
