Hyundai’s compact i20 N hot hatch returns for 2025, boasting more technology, styling enhancements and it’s still equipped with a manual ‘box.
The N performance model will be available from November this year, priced at $35,500 ($500 more than the outgoing model).
Best of all, the i20 N’s fun-focused reputation remains, with a light kerb weight, mechanical front diff and standard six-speed manual gearbox retained.
Hyundai has opted for the same 1.6-litre turbocharged engine producing 150kW/275Nm, with 304Nm available on ‘overboost’, while a large motorsport-derived single exhaust provides a boisterous soundtrack.
The 2025 i20 N’s exterior is more aggressive, borrowing themes from Hyundai’s rally-winning i20 Coupe WRX, featuring a redesigned front bumper and a new-look front grille.
New Hyundai badging now adopts a modern matte black finish that blends seamlessly into the rear tailgate, while a large flat-style ‘H’ sits in the centre of the revised front grille. A new 18-inch forged alloy wheel design completes the exterior updates.
Inside, the i20 N’s sporty cabin now offers LED interior lighting, while Hyundai’s new badge design features on the gear knob and in the centre of the leather-wrapped steering wheel.
Technology updates include the introduction of Hyundai BluelinkTM connected car services and Over The Air (OTA) software update capability, which includes various safety and car control features.
“The updated 2025 Hyundai i20 N is proof that some of the greatest things come in small packages,” said Hyundai Motor Company Australia Chief Executive Officer, Ted Lee.
“Sometimes a performance car’s recipe is so good that only small tweaks are required, and by boosting the i20 N’s technology and styling, Hyundai has elevated an outstanding and accessible performance package to another level.”
