The 2024 Mercedes-Benz mid-size Vito and V-Class van and people mover range has arrived, bringing the first major facelift since 2015, with safety, comfort, convenience and technology upgrades across models.
Every model in the range has been updated, from the new range-opening Vito 114 MWB Van, all the way up luxury-focused V-Class people movers and electric models.
Standard upgrades across the entire range include the latest MBUX infotainment system, which houses everything from media and phone controls to vehicle settings and navigation. The advanced system uses a 10.25-inch centre touchscreen, and can be voice-operated using the ‘Hey Mercedes’ prompt. A second 5.5 inch display takes care of instrumentation.
All models are now fitted with a multifunction steering wheel with touch-sensitive controls; a Keyless Start function allowing the driver to start the vehicle with the key fob in their pocket via a Stop/Start button; an electronically actuated park brake; and wireless phone connectivity.
Mercedes-Benz has given the range a safety boost too, adding Active Lane Keep Assist, Traffic Sign Assist, and tyre pressure monitoring as standard for the first time.
The range-wide upgrades are most prevalent in the V-Class range, which now scores a widescreen cockpit featuring dual 12.3-inch displays, Keyless Start, a wireless charging system for mobile devices, 64-colour ambient lighting throughout the cabin, multibeam headlights with High Beam Assist, 3D Surround View, metallic paint, and all of the other standard upgrades.
The premium Burmester surround sound system, previously only available on the V 300 AMG model, is now standard across the V-Class range too.
Variants across the van, crew cab and people mover ranges are powered by a range of turbocharged diesel engines, all mated to a nine-speed automatic transmission, while electric models come in two power ratings.
The array of diesel engines offer outputs of 100kW/300Nm in the Vito 114, 120kW/380Nm in the Vito 116 and Vito Tourer, 140kW/440Nm in the Vito 119 and V 250 while the V 300 AMG gets a punchier 174kW/500Nm powertrain. The eVito is powered by an electric motor producing 85kW/360Nm, while the eVito Tourer and EQV300 get a more powerful 150kW/365Nm powertrain.
In terms of load-carrying capacity, Panel vans have a GVM/GCM of 3000/5500 kg; crew cab variants 3200/5700 kg; and the eVito has a 3200 kg GVM.
Mercedes-Benz has confirmed the order books are now open for all models and customer deliveries have commenced.
