FAN was in Melbourne last week and visited the 2019 Roads and Traffic Expo. Not an obvious place to find stories on fleet management. Though we saw some familiar faces and found some interesting stories to follow up in the next couple of weeks.
Fleetcare had a massive stand and were sponsoring one of the speaker theatres which was one of the main attractions at the Roads and Traffic Expo. They were giving away barista coffee which always attracts a crowd, though it was their driving simulator that caught our interest.
It wasn’t a normal simulator featuring a race car and a trophy for the fastest lap.
Fleetcare were using it to demonstrate how driver behaviour can be influenced to reduce fuel consumption and improve fleet safety using their telematics products. Participants would take a drive and receive a score based on their behaviour. After reviewing the data, and some tips and coaching from Fleetcare staff, they take another drive and try to improve their score. It’s a great tool to demonstrate how driver behaviour and be influenced to improve fleet safety.
