Bathurst Tourism advises that the Bridle Track is the most well known four wheel drive track in Bathurst NSW. Originally built as the first road between Bathurst and Hill End during the gold rush. It earned its name due to the narrowest sections where travellers had to guide their horses by the bridle.
Rod loves exploring areas in NSW west of the dividing range (or sandstone curtain as he call it) and when he got the chance to take the Ford Ranger V6 Wildtrak through sections of the Bridle Track, it was a dream come true.
After watching you’ll understand why the Ranger was the top selling vehicle in 2023, and the most popular novated lease car for three years in a row (2022, 2021, 2022).
As of Feburary 2023 the Bridle track is traversable in its entire length due to the new Monaghans Bluff Bypass.
Bathurst Regional Council advises against taking trailers on the Bridle Track. Reception on the track can be spotty, check for Total Fire Bans and restrictions ahead of time.
