The Government of Western Australia’s Department of Finance’ Fleet Procurement Division (State Fleet), last week awarded Fleetcare the sole supplier contract for the provision of Fleet Management Services to all West Australian state government departments and agencies. The contract, previously shared between Fleetcare and SG Fleet, will supply fleet management services to more than 9,000 vehicles across the state.
While pricing was a factor in the contract award, Fleetcare feel that their addition of customised platforms and fully integrated technology solutions will offer the biggest benefits to both State Fleet and individual WA government departments.
“The key driver for the contract will be focusing on areas of fleet optimisation for State Fleet, while providing first class service to the agencies it serves” Fleetcare CEO, Nigel Malcolm said today. “Our offering focused heavily on the provision of customised utilisation dashboards which will ensure greater efficiency and cost savings across the WA Government fleet”.
In addition to the Fleet Management Services, Fleetcare were also awarded as a panel supplier for their telematics product Fleetdynamics.
“Telematics really is the future of fleet management,” Fleetdynamics manager Russell Bairstow said. “We have worked hard to integrate our in-house telematics solution with our fleet management platform, combining real time vehicle tracking capabilities with improvements in driver safety, FBT management, fuel tax credits, compliance and whole-of-life vehicle optimisation through telematics data.”
State Fleet facilitates the purchase, servicing and disposal of vehicles for all Western Australian Government agencies.
Founded in 1989, Fleetcare is Australia’s largest independent Fleet Management Organisation. The award of this contract sees Fleetcare’s government fleet increase to 18% of total assets managed nationally. Fleetcare’s relationship with WA government spans 18 years with the first contract being held with FleetWest in 1993. Fleetcare was founded in WA and whilst a national organisation, we are proud to support the WA Government.
The contract will formally commence on the 1st July 2018.
