The Fleet Europe Awards recognise outstanding achievements in various categories of fleet management. This year was the 10th edition of the event, organised by Fleet Europe, the media platform specialised in B2B information on international car fleet and mobility management.
This Award is presented to a company that has successfully implemented a green project or initiative in efficient alternative mobility for its fleet.
This Award was won by Daan Bieleveld, Global Mobility Manager at Royal DSM. He received the Award from Ralf Kostrewa, Head of Group Fleet Sales International at Volkswagen Group Fleet International.
The Jury was impressed by how Daan has convinced stakeholders at Royal DSM to turn the car-centric fleet approach into a mobility approach with room for innovation.
Sustainability was key for Daan. Since 2014, he as developed within Royal DSM a unique programme that includes various mobility initiatives such as car sharing, bike sharing, private lease and public transport flexibility, next to the company car. The goal is to increase employee productivity via satisfaction and multi-modality based on the mobility profile of the employees.
The result is a CO² reduction of 20% and a damage reduction of 18% in the company fleet, which comprises 1,750 company cars for 21,000 employees.
As a next step, Daan is examining the introduction of a true Mobility Budget approach with tools and apps to allow employees to easily choose, book and pay the Green Mobility Solutions offered.
