The wheels will be powered by an electric motor but there’s still a petrol motor generating electricity to charge the battery. So is it an EV or a hybrid? It sounds like a hybrid but not like the models that have become popular with fleet buyers. So maybe, this electric low emission 4WD with an off-road pedigree might be attractive to novated lease buyers.
It comes to market with over 20 years of history taking owners on adventures with their families. The fourth generation Nissan X-Trail arrives in Australia later in 2022 with the traditional ICE models arriving first and then the new e-POWER models coming in 2023.
Adam Paterson, Managing Director Nissan Australia adds: “We’re excited that the all-new X-Trail with e-POWER and e-4ORCE will be arriving in Australian showrooms in early 2023. We’re confident customers will love its unique combination of electrified performance, confidence inspiring handling and robust practicality. As one would expect from a Nissan, it will offer unique customer appeal. We can’t wait to see it in our showrooms.”
The all-new X-Trail offers a unique combination of rugged eye-catching design, comfort and convenience on-board and an effortless, confident drive.
Sitting alongside X-Trail’s internal combustion engine offering will be the X-Trail e-POWER with e-4ORCE. Nissan’s pioneering e-POWER system delivers responsive performance thanks to the driven wheels being powered only by an electric motor, so response is instant, linear and smooth.
The power for the electric motor is generated by a new advanced variable compression turbo-charged petrol engine which runs quietly in the background to feed the battery, which then supplies power to the electric motor via an inverter.
A new twin motor all-wheel drive system designed to work with Nissan’s electrified 4WD powertrains. e-4ORCE will deliver reassuring traction and confident acceleration in all conditions thanks to Nissan’s most advanced all-wheel control technology.
Comfort and convenience is central to life with the all-new X-Trail with rear doors that open to 85⁰. There’s an abundance of storage options around the cabin, Tri-Zone air conditioning for rear comfort as well as USB A and C chargers front and rear.
The all-new X-Trail is also equipped with a comprehensive suite of intuitive technology which simplifies life for the driver and passenger. Notably, reassurance will come from the availability of Nissan’s driver assistance system ProPilot, which is designed to reduce fatigue and stress while driving, offering warnings and intervention in the case of unforeseen hazards. A key safety feature is the inclusion of a heads-up display, which projects vital information into the drivers eye-line, such as navigation steps, driver assistance and current speed limit.
From September, 2022 consumers in Australia can visit the Nissan website to initiate the pre-order process and explore the different options that the all-new Nissan X-Trail with e-POWER and e-4FORCE offers.
Deliveries of the new Nissan X-Trail with internal combustion engine will begin in Q4, 2022. Deliveries of the new Nissan X-Trail with e-POWER and e-4ORCE will begin in early 2023.
